Looking for Holiday Partner Music

Dear Colleagues,

I am a new teacher at the Elementary level.  I’ve struggled this year in finding Holiday partner music and want to find some for the next season.  I’m looking for harmony and partner songs or even short musical plays that can involve all grade levels.  I want to introduce my students to parts and cannons that can help prepare the upper elementary students for their advancement to Middle Sschool.

Simple Partner song:  Have them sing WE THREE KINGS, two verses, then keep repeating the STAR OF WONDER section adding TWINKLE TWINKLE on top (but in 6 not 4) so it matches the meter of STAR OF WONDER.   It's charming.   There are many other songs you can add to the mix, but you may have to do them in 6.

Jill Gallina has several Christmas partner songs.  Here's a couple of good ones:

Winter Fantasy (with Jingle Bells) is published in some of the music series texts in grade 4
Happy Winter (with Frosty the Snowman)

You might also check out "Santa Makes the Rounds" by Janet Gardener--all traditional rounds with Christmas words instead.

Best wishes!

Two other pieces by Jill Gallina that I have had success with are:
Angel's Lullaby (partners  with 1st Noel)
Sing a Song of Joy (partners with Joy to the World)

There is also another one called Decorate the Halls by Catherine Bennett that partners with Deck the Halls.
Hope this helps.

Night of Silence by Kantor. It's a partner song to Silent Night. I've done it with multiple choirs and each has fallen in love with it.
