Christ’s Birthday Cantata at Shadyside Presbyterian Church
On Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, Shadyside Presbyterian Church presents an extended choral prelude beginning at 8:40 p.m., preceding the traditional candlelight service at 9:00 p.m. The church’s Chancel Choir and orchestra, under the direction of conductor Mark A. Anderson, Director of Music Ministry, will present Bruce Montgomery’s cantata, Christ’s Birthday.
Christ’s Birthday is a suite of six carols: “In the Bleak Midwinter,” “Balulalow,” “Adam Lay Ybounden,” “There Came Three Kings,” “A Maid Peerless,” and “Good Day, Sir Christemas.”
