Announcing the start of Viva, a voice class and community singing group in St. Paul.
Viva exists to promote singing in the community through rigorous training sessions, teaching a clear understanding of how the voice works, and singing timeless songs and choral music.
Ideal for singers new to voice training, or experienced singers wishing to brush up their vocal technique with a fresh approach, Viva is designed to fit the demand for singers who wish to improve their singing, but are unable to commit to private lessons.
Viva classes offer:
+ Challenging vocal exercises to establish free function of the voice
+ A complete understanding of the physical function of the voice, creating a solid foundation for a lifetime of singing
+ Training relevant to any style of singing, whether a singer wishes to perform classical solo repertoire, sing in a band, or simply become a better choral singer
+ Training materials and instruction for individual practice
+ Sight-reading improvement
+ Community singing, including folk songs, spirituals, and choral and operatic repertoire, with opportunity for solos
+ Jam sessions with local instrumentalists
Viva is a fun and practical way for singers of all kinds to receive rigorous voice training, combining the dedication to classical technique with all the socializing and music-making of a choir.
