WESTMINSTER COLLEGE -- Full-time, tenure-track position in Music to begin August 20, 2014. Rank: Assistant Professor, Director of Choral Activities. Conduct multiple choirs. Teach undergraduate courses in music education (may include choral methods, choral conducting, choral literature, and/or relevant pedagogies), teach relevant applied studio and assist in vocal master class. Assist in the administration of music student teachers (including placement, observation, and evaluation). Other duties include: annual choir tours, hosting PMEA District 5 Honors Chorus, and work with the Chapel Office concerning Sunday Vespers and Christmas Vespers. Quality piano skills are necessary. Show evidence of individual performance level as well as ensemble conducting. Recruit students for applied studio(s) and for the Music Department as a whole. Additional teaching may be assigned based on candidate’s strengths and department needs. Required: doctorate and minimum of three years of successful, full-time teaching experience at the K-12 level, and evidence of potential for significant scholarly and/or creative work.
