International Champion Quartet from Sweden to Perform in Nebraska

Location: Nebraska, USA
Choir type: Other Choirs
Voicing: Men
Nebraskans are in for a rare treat on June 13-14, 2014, when the four young men of Ringmasters, the 2012 International Champion Quartet of the Barbershop Harmony Society, perform. Their first concert with the Pathfinder Chorus will be in Omaha at Westside High School on Friday @ 7:30 pm. The second will be in Fremont at Midland University on Saturday @ 3:00 pm, as part of the Augustana Heritage Association Festival. Both events are open to the public. As a world champion of barbershop, Ringmasters blend their awesome virtuosity with the infectious energy of pop music.  Flying in from Sweden, this quartet’s vibrant show takes you from the barbershop classics, through Simon and Garfunkel, to the Beatles and Elvis Presley.
Their hosts will be the local Fremont-based Pathfinder Chorus, currently ranked "10th in the world," as they prepare for their fifth consecutive trip to represent Nebraska and the Central States District (parts of six states) at the International Competition. The chorus will compete on July 4th with two musical selections specifically arranged for them: Make Them Hear You, from Ragtime, and the 1938 "Fats" Waller tune The Joint is Jumpin'. They will perform both of these songs in their June concerts, along with other exciting selections.
The Pathfinder Chorus, known as Nebraska's Premiere A Cappella Chorus, is made up of 100+ men of all ages and from all walks of life. They come from a 20,000 square mile area every Monday night to sing at the First Presbyterian Church, located at W. Linden & Nye Av. in Fremont. Men of all ages who like to sing are invited to visit the Pathfinder Chorus. Their purpose is to Enrich Lives Through Singing, and they are a 501(c)(3) organization. Open auditions will be held this Summer for any man who would like to sing in a world ranked chorus.
Thanks to the relationship between the ACDA and the Barbershop Harmony Society, the opportunity for students to experience this original American style has been expanded. To get tickets for the Omaha concert go to or call 402-522-6021.
