Position: Associate Conductor
Reports to: Artistic Director, Twin Cities Girls Chorus, and Executive Director, Twin Cities Women's Choir

Job Description:
Position Qualifications
-Bachelors Degree in Music or Music Education
-interest in working with treble voices
-knowledge and experience with the developing child voice
-proficient in piano skills for leading rehearsal
-willingness to work collaboratively on artistic programming
-interest in connecting music to broader issues of community, social justice, and leadership
-K-12 music licensure
Principal Duties
-lead one weekly small group music class for kindergarten-1st graders
-lead weekly rehearsals for Mezzo Choir (2nd-5th grade, approximately 10-20 singers)
-conduct Mezzo Choir and mass choir pieces at concerts
-choose age and ability appropriate literature and activities for rehearsals
-lead a half-day Mezzo Choir retreat in the fall
-teach music literacy skills and vocal technique through repertoire and activities/games
-work with the Artistic Director to program concerts for a September - May concert season
-communicate regularly with the Artistic Director in person, via phone and email
-communicate regularly with parents regarding rehearsals, practice expectations, and program details
-help lead sectionals for Concert Choir rehearsals
-assist Artistic Director with other tasks as needed
-serve as a chaperone on the Concert Choir tour (usually in the spring)
Salaried compensation commensurate with experience for 36 program weeks between September and June. Time commitment is approximately 3-5 hours a week.
