No work for me except collecting $, and no one had to buy anything... I find parents get tired of buying stuff... Their usually the ones buying.

Great American Opportunity is fabulous to work with but it ultimately depends on your rep. He worked with us to give kids credit for straight up financial donations which meant we could hit up companies and donors along with sales.

Lauren KathleenWe did a spare change fundraiser called "Pie in the Face". We asked some administrators and beloved teachers to participate. We put their pictures on mason jars and the kids walked around the cafeteria and gathered spare change in the jars...whoever you wanted to see get "pie-d" got your money...at the end of the week we announced it over the loudspeaker, and then we put a pie in the face of the teacher who had the most money in the jar by the buses at the end of the day. We caught it on video and put it on the school's Facebook page. Lots of fun!
Aubrey DunhamTry hosting a middle school choir camp. We started doing this last year and it was awesome. The format, price, and duration was modeled off the athletic summer camps hosted at our school. No selling of anything, just promoting the event. We included a camp tshirt and had an end of the week concert. We were able to get Andy's custard to donate individual servings for an ice cream social following the concert. It was awesome! My favorite fundraiser because it promotes musicianship and advocates for your program.

Lori Oliver FreedWe have a chicken dinner for our music department. From like 12-6 on a Saturday in March. Every group throughout brings a group to perform in the gym (we have 3 setups - choral/band&orch/jazz) and we pre sell the dinners for like $10 per dinner. Parents donate drinks, desserts, paper goods, and applesauce. We buy rolls and butter through the school, and buy chicken and baked potatoes from a chicken catering co.

Kenny WiserWe have a Marie calendars an hour away and sell them right before Thanksgiving. They have a fundraiser program for schools max I think it works well because of the timing, and because it is close enough for us to get to, yet far enough that people would rather buy from us.

Kyle Jacob CookI do a BBQ plate sale. All my kids do is sell the dinners. A local company brings in a trailer and parks in outside the school and we run it like a drive-thru. I sell the dinners for $10 each and that includes pork BBQ, fried chicken, cole slaw, hush puppies, and potatoes. The restaurant charges me something like 4.95 a plate. I have over 200 kids in my program, so I basically push them to sell 5 dinners each but I also make it a contest for a highest seller in each grade level and that student gets a gift card. I made over $8,000 on this and we are doing it again. I plan the pick up on the same night as a big football game. Let me know if you have questions. It honestly runs itself.

Karen MerkleyWe do all sorts of things, but some of the biggest money makers are selling glow in the dark bracelets, necklaces, etc. at our three evening school festivals; selling chapstick tubes throughout the year; we partner with our state fair to sell discounted tickets to our parents who are going to buy tickets anyway (our fairgrounds are about a mile from the school); and a chilli cookoff in January/February.

Sarah Johnson TiedeI work with a local green house and sell potted poinsettias at Christmas time. I have them delivered the day of the concert and use them to decorate the stage, and then the kids take them home when the concert is over. It's a lot to handle in one day, but it is about 50% profit on each flower sold! And people love it.
