Nicolle OmisteOvertone singing causes one to become very aware of how to manipulate the soft palate.

Tom KlonglerI find having them learn to be aware of laryngeal position tends to make soft palate lift occur. Place a finger on the "Adams apple" and yawn to make it lower/swallow to feel it rise

Penelope CruzThe most effective method I've learned from and subsequently do is for the student to stand in front of a mirror and shine a flashlight into the back of the mouth and raise and lift the palate. You might have to demonstrate while they're peering into your mouth with the flashlight first.

Roger Ames"Hungah" with no hard "g" gets them to notice what's going on around the soft pallet - create warmups with it. Works well. Emphasize the ng feeling, stay there for awhile in certain exercises.

Heather HamiltonThe technique that worked best for me was looking into a mirror with a flashlight and yawning! Then my teacher asked me to work on lifting my soft palette without yawning.

DeeAnn GrayI have them literally touch the soft place in the roof of the mouth, and then take a cool breath in while yawning. We also use a cupped hand beside the mouth to represent lifting. These things are the most effective for my choirs!

Representing their second Classical Movements tour, the girls of Young Adelaide Voices treble choir completed a very successful tour of Munich, Salzburg, Vienna, and Bratislava. With festival performances in Salzburg, including in the legendary Groβer Saal of the Mozarteum, and in Bratislava, where in addition to multiple performances the choir came home with three gold medals, the girls also enjoyed impromptu pop-up performances in each city, as a chance to hone their repertoire and delight the locals and tourists who happened upon them. Other high points include a post-Mass performance in Munich’s famous Frauenkirche, a concert in the atrium of Vienna’s high-tech Haus der Muisk, and a custom tour of the salt mines of Hallstatt outside of Salzburg.
