Join Music on the Hill Tuesday evenings in August to sing choral classics!
Each week, a different work from the classical choral repertoire with a different conductor. No preparation; no performance; just show up and sing! Sessions run from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wilton Presbyterian Church, 48 New Canaan Road, Wilton, CT.
Participants may join in for one Summer Sings! session or many; choose a familiar favorite or try something new. Singers of all backgrounds, including high school singers, are welcome.
The series starts on August 2nd with the Mendelssohn Elijah led by Marguerite Brooks of the Yale School of Music and Institute of Sacred Music. She will be followed by Fiona Smith Sutherland (8/9); David H. Connell (8/16); and Ellen Dickinson (8/23).
Sutherland is the new Director of Music at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Wilton. Connell and Dickinson are Music on the Hill artistic directors.
Summer Sings! are free, with donations welcome. Scores will be available for use. Find musical selections for later sessions at musiconthehillCT.org after August 1st.
