The Fourth Annual Summer Singspiration Benefit Concert, sponsored by Faith United Methodist Church of Orland Park, is scheduled for August 14, 2016 at 3 p.m.
This community based concert provides any interested singers, who’s normal season of singing in their church or school choir is between September and May, an opportunity to sing some in the summer. It also is an opportunity for singers of high school age and up who don’t have a designated group, but would like to get back to singing in a choral group, a great chance to do just that.
Each of the past three years the concert has donated funds generated from a free will offering to a local charity organization. This year’s funds are designated to assist the programs at the Bridge Teen Center, Orland Park, Illinois.
We encourage singers to join us as we prepare music from all genres, sacred and secular. Selections performed are chosen from the classical masters to the tunes of Broadway, Pop and Jazz.
We especially encourage Tenors and Basses to come join us to help fill those sections.
Six rehearsals will be held on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. which include June 15 & 29, July 5 & 20 and August 3 & 10. For any conflicts with these dates, part CDs will be available to assist singers.
