Are you using an @aol.com email address and having problems receiving your ChoralNet mail (either getting no mail at all, or logging into ChoralNet and getting a ‘your mail is bouncing’ notification) over the last month or so? If so, you’re not alone. AOL’s mail servers recently started issuing ‘permanent’ error codes rather than temporary errors when they get overloaded (which turns out to be a frequent occurence), which causes us to suspend your email subscriptions automatically to avoid causing further problems. This is a bug on AOL’s part, and we’ve complained to AOL about it, and so have many others.
What can you do about it? Unfortunately, not much at the moment until AOL gets their act together and fixes this issue–so your only real choice is to move your ChoralNet email onto a non-AOL email address (e.g. an institutional address or an account with another mail server, such as Google). To change your ChoralNet email, log into ChoralNet, then go to My ChoralNet, then My User Profile, and then Edit. You can then change your email address; when you click Save, ChoralNet will start sending your subscriptions to your new address. While you’re there, you might also want to go to Subscription email options and ensure you’re getting the subscriptions you want how you want them.
