Jon Washburn and the Vancouver Chamber Choir present HARVEST: Songs of
Thanksgiving with Terence Dawson and Linda Lee Thomas, piano, and the Focus!
choir of college and university singers. Come celebrate the warmth and
inspiration of Copland, Vaughan Williams, Chatman, Washburn and Asplin at
the acoustically brilliant Chan Centre for the Performing Arts (UBC), 8pm,
Saturday, October 18, 2003. Tickets are $16 - $40 through Ticketmaster

The repertoire resonates with autumn themes - thanksgiving, peace, healing
and rural hardiness. The Vancouver Chamber Choir performs: David Asplin "For
the Healing of Nations" and Stephen Chatman "Two Rossetti Songs".
Pianists Terence Dawson and Linda Lee Thomas join the Choir for "Old
American Songs" (Simple Gifts, At the river, Ching-a-ring-chaw and Zion's
Walls) by Aaron Copland and Ralph Vaughan Williams' "A Song of
The VCC shares the stage with the new voices of the 2003 Focus!
participants - a select group of Lower Mainland university and college
students who have spent an intensive week in rehearsal with the Choir - for
the performance of the "Balm in Gilead" of Jon Washburn, as well as Aaron
Copland's "Stomp your Foot" and "The Promise of Living" (from 'The Tender
The VCC sings only once a year amid the magnificent acoustics of the Chan
