That would be a helluva midi file! If by chance you find it, please
send me a copy or notify me. I've never heard of such a thing.

I really don't understand why you should expect to find a MIDI file of
something that is (a) protected by copyright, (b) still making money for
its composer and publisher, and (c) long and classical. But I'm willing to
be educated. Why do you expect to find such a file, and what use would you
have for it that a good CD wouldn't accomplish better?

I'm a member of a choral in france, and the Rutter's requiem will be our next
major piece. All members of my choral will buy in septembre the full score of
the requiem ans we will work on it during one year. I have got a worderfull
Macintosh and a few synthesizers and I could work on my own , at my own speed,
each part of this requiem with the midi file and a sequencer.
I dont think this is unlegal since I buy the full score.

First remember that laws are not the same all over the world (notice
tho original writer is from France). Maybe in France a midi
transcription is legal for personal use.
And also he dind't say he woldn't pay any fee if it is due.
However there are many web and ftp archives of classical midi, in
general, and some of the files is long indeed.

I preume this means that there is no CD recording of Rutter's requiem.
I heard it live, done by the Sheffield Bach Choir a couple of weeks'
ago. Althuogh interesting, and with some modern themes, it was all at
the same tempo. Some of the melodies seemed familiar....rumour has it
that Rutter was strongly influenced by the Sound of Music....

Why don't you just buy the CD?
