Recording lists: Suggestions for recordings in a basic Choral Music Collection

Date: Mon, 14 Jul 1997 13:33:21 +0400
From: Larry Nickel
Subject: "Must Have" Choral CDs compilation

Whew! What a list,

Several weeks ago I asked choralist members to recommend "must have"
choral CDs. (I'm building up our school's CD library) The results are
listed below in no particular order. Some people were more studious at
including the particulars. They came in different formats so I put
quotation marks around each title. The grand winner, the CD that was
recommended nearly ten times, was the Robert Shaw Festival Singers
Rachmaninoff's "VESPERS" recording. I was pleased to realize that I
have many of these recordings already. Perhaps you did not participate
in this poll and still wish to add your recommendations. Just forward
them to me and I will try to do an updated list later on. Many thanks
to all those who sent in their musical "gems" and now it's off to the
music store with a wheel barrow full of money!
