Is Mr. Bayne still conducting? He inspired me to love listening to, and playing music. He is also partly responsible for my desire to teach. I now teach at the school he did and I often ask veteran teachers about him. I'm happy to say that he is still fondly remembered at Sylvester, and I enjoy hearing the stories.

Well, thanks Mr. Bayne for being the best band teacher ever. Sylvester MS c/o 90-91 Symphonic Band was the tightest, most fine-tuned groups I ever heard.

Mr. Bayne was the most influential teacher I ever had! He went the extra mile every year (I had him from 5th grade beginning band until I went to high school) to make sure I never lost interest in the clarinet, and then went on to teach me saxophone too! There are many times where he remained after school to help me through a difficult piece for Solo/Ensemble, or to give me some lessons on my clarinet.

Mr. Bayne was the sole reason I went to PLU to pursue Music Education myself! Although I decided to move to a different subject matter, I too chose to be a teacher because of him. Thanks for everything you did for me, Mr. Bayne. You will never realize how much you have influenced my life.
