I had already looked in Musica and the Choralnet site, nothing new there. While I didn't find anything that I could use I really appreciated all the comments that I did recieve (I learned some new rep. anyway). Here are the responses: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- You should looking for this search in MUSICA database: you could find several great possibilities. http://www.MusicaNet.org ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- Hi: I was asked to do the same last year by a couple who were "traditional" Catholics (i.e. Latin mass, only Gregorian chant and Renaissance polyphony, only male singers). They had even decided what music they wanted: Mass proper in Gregorian chant, Victoria's mass "O quam gloriosum" and Byrd's "Ave verum". Since the Victoria and Byrd are written for SATB choir, and there was no likelihood of finding any boys to sing the soprano line, I formed an ATBarB choir, and we sang the Victoria and Byrd a fourth lower than written. It made for a rather dark sound, but the bridal couple were quite happy with the outcome. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- Franz Biebl - Ave Maria for TTBB + trio (TTB) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- We used the following for our children's weddings: l. Ave Maria - Biebl 2. Sanctus - arr. D. Grothenhuis 3. Ubi Caritas - Rene Clausen 4. May God Smile On You (Der Herr Segne Euch) J. S. Bach (Wedding Cant.) 5. A Parting Blessing - J. Jerome Williams 6. Set Me As A Seal - Rene Clausen "The crowd went wild!" :-) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- I stumbled on a site of sharemusic. They have a piece called "Daddy's Little Girl" written specifically for a wedding. It is for TTBB but only has 3 parts (in case the father of the bride happens to be a member and needs 'relief'. The address is: http://www.choraegus.com Hope this helps! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- "Set Me As A Seal" by Robert Scholz MorningStar (I believe). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- Not sure if this meets whatever Catholic requirements, but you want to look at "Der Herr segne euch" (May God bless you), TB duet from BWV 196 (Wedding cantata). It's very sweet. And it really implies, "May God bless your marriage with lots of children" -- a Catholic sentiment, I guess! It's published as an octavo by Peters. Can be accompanied reasonably by piano or organ, though the full accompaniment is strings and continuo. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- A beautiful song by Eric Thiman: She is my slender small love. Hal Leonard 50307640. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- Thanks again everyone.
