God Bless America lyrics(note: I'm posting this followup from the person who originally asked about
this on her behalf) Dear Friends, The official word on "God Bless America" is that there is only one verse/chorus. As the storm clouds gather far across the sea, Let us pledge allegiance to a land that's free. Let us all be grateful for a land so fair, As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer. God Bless America, Land that I love. Stand beside her and guide her, Through the night with a light from above. >From the mountains to the prairies, To the oceans white with foam. God Bless America, My home sweet home. The sources of respondants include memory, internet, The Irving Berling Songbook, and the Irving Berlin Collection at the Library of Congress. Many thanks to each of you. Connie Chase |
