Source of: In dulci jubilo

Dear all and especially Margaret Green,
In dulci jubilo is one of the songs in Piae Cantiones, which was published in 1582 and 1625. The name of thje first collection is *Piae Cantiones ecclesiasticae et scholasticae veterum Episcorum* The first edition was published by the Finnish student Theodoricus Rutha. The song in qustion is number XV in both editions. The text is in latin and Swedish (not German).
1. In dulci jubilo,
nu sjungom vi io!
Han som nåden hyser
är in praesepio,
och lik solen lyser
matris in gremio.
:Alpha es et O:

2. O Jesu parvule,
för dig jag känner ve,
trösta du mitt sinne,
o puer optime,
godhet slut mig inne,
o princeps gloriae.
:Trahe me post te:

There are two more verses. It what sense this would be the original *In dulci jubilo* I can not tell. There are problbly many. The English one I have seen. It may be a transation. But then again which was first. There is a lot of information about Piae Cantiones on the internet.
Good Luck!
