Dear all and especially Margaret Green, In dulci jubilo is one of the songs in Piae Cantiones, which was published in 1582 and 1625. The name of thje first collection is *Piae Cantiones ecclesiasticae et scholasticae veterum Episcorum* The first edition was published by the Finnish student Theodoricus Rutha.The song in qustion is number XV in both editions. There are two more verses. It what sense this would be the original *In dulci jubilo* I can not tell. There are problbly many. The English one I have seen. It may be a transation.
