Harold Brown Centennial=Halloween Weekend, 2009

The students of Harold Brown [10/31/09-9/26/79] and singers of the Renaissance Chorus of New York,founded by him in 1954 at the High School of Music and Art are planning a three day reunion/ event in commemoration of his centennial in New York.
 
The first event, Friday 10/30/09 will be an open-sing of Mr. Brown's Renaissance Mass editions/motets conducted by his students/reunion at 7pm at Advent Lutheran Church, Broadway at 93rd St. Manhattan.
 
The second event, Saturday 10/31/09 at 3, also at Advent, will feature his own Chamber and vocal music Featuring soprano Danielle Woerner, pianist Emily White, with noted Juilliard/CUNY musicians The Tessera Quartet, a woodwind ensemble and an ensemble of his string students.
 
The third event, Sunday 11/1/09, at 7:30pm , consists of a joint concert of invited current Early music groups/choruses. It will be held at Christ And St.Stephens Church,120 W.69th Street, Manhattan
 
We are forming an ensemble of ssaaaa voices to perform Mr.Brown's GMHopkins setting: "No worst There Is None, pitched past pitch of Grief..." for the 10/31/09 Concert.
