Jesu, Meine Freude: Volti Choral Institute Concert
Volti, along with the Acalanes High School Chamber Singers, Colla Voce choir from Head-Royce School, and the Ecco group from the Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir, present J.S. Bach's Jesu, Meine Freude. Each high school choir will also present a short selecton of music on its own.
This concert is the culmination of a process that began last October when the choirs, along with their conductors, Bruce C. Lengacher (Acalanes), Robert Wells (Head-Royce) and Clifton Massey (Ecco) spent an intensive weekend at Volti's Choral Institute, working on Bach's masterpiece withthe professional singers of volti under conductor Robert Geary. Rehearsals and coachings have continiued through the school year, and now nearly 100 young singers join forces with the Jubilate Orchestra to present the fruits of their labors.
