Search for lyrics to "Here's One" spiritualDate: July 23, 2009
After a somewhat exhaustive websearch, I turn to the great List membership.
Are there those among you who have multiple lyric verses for the spiritual song "Here's One,"
which begins: Talk about a child who do love Jesus, here's one... ?

It seems that most of us come up with the same two verses. I'm still wondering if there is a third one out there somewhere...lest I resort to being inventive myself!
(This is for an arrangement that I have done for my choir, but really begs for a third stanza, for which I seem to have no traditional words!)

If I understand what you're looking for, then Mark Hayes' setting *does* have three verses. The middle one "talk about a child who's been forgiven" does not appear in the traditional text I found via Google. Have you tried using that?

I have heard three verses for this spiritual, as outlined in the thread, with
"who do love Jesus"
"who been forgiven" and
"who know salvation" as the changing phrase
On the last verse, instead of "Ever since ....glory," I've instead heard the phrase
"Into Satan's hands I sure was fallin', then I heard the voice of Jesus callin' "
