Choral Festival and Competition Seghizzi (Gorizia,Italy) July 2010

Location: Italy
8th Festival SEGHIZZINREGIONE choral concert circuit in the region Friuli Venezia Giulia – Italy (12,15 ,16 and 19 July 2010). Every choir must present one or two concert programs (maximum duration: about 1 hour); for example: a program of sacred music only and/or a program of profane music only. The number of the pieces included in the program depends on the typology of the repertory presented. The Organizing Board will choose the place and the location in which the concert takes place in base of  (a) the preferences of the purchaser; (b) the typology of the program(sacred or profane); (c) the number of the members of the group (d) organization and logistics needs, general and particular needs .
 
49TH INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION OF CHORAL SINGING "SEGHIZZI" (Gorizia, Italy, 16th-18th July 2010)
♦ Choirs and musical groups, with a binding musical programme, admitted by Artistic Board.
♦ The chosen Choirs will be judged by an International Jury who expresses a numerical ranking and merit ranges.
♦ The competition is composed of 8 categories:
Ia   Category Polyphony with Monographic programme – Renaissance
Ib   Category Polyphony with Monographic programme – Baroque
Ic   Category Polyphony with Monographic programme – 19th Century
Id   Category Polyphony with Monographic programme – 1900 to the present day
IIa  Category for choral arrangements of folk and traditional songs or spirituals and gospels
IIb  Category for choral arrangements of pop and jazz music
III  Category Polyphony with contemporary music programme
IV  22nd Grand Prix Seghizzi 2010 – 3rd Trophy of the Nations Special Categories
♦ One of the selection criteria for acceptance is the number of categories a group registers in.
♦ The organization will give a refund of the expenses proportionally to the distance from the home town to the venue of the competition.
♦ The winning choirs of categories Ia, Ib, Ic, Id will take part to the 22nd Grand Prix Seghizzi 2010, with very important prizes.
