Keeping the boys singing during the vocal change...

I am in a choral methods course right for middle school and I was wondering if anyone had any good tips for keeping boys singing during the vocal change. And along with that, what methods do you use to keep healthy singing in the male voice (i.e. Alto-Tenor approach, Cambiata approach, etc.) or something new that works in your classroom?
