The Samford University A Cappella Choir (Timothy Paul Banks, conductor) will celebrate its 70th anniversary with Choral evensong at 5 o'clock pm in Hodges Chapel on the campus in Birmingham Alabama.  There is no admission charge, but seating is limited; early arrival is recommended.

 

As a part of the university's homecoming weekend festivities, the service will feature introits and anthems by Wood (Hail Gladdening Light), Whitacre (hope, faith, life, love), Sisask (Benedictio) and Walton (Jubilate Deo); psalms by Goddall, Barnby and Woodward; the canticles are a rarely heard early set by Charles Villiers Stanford in Eb (1873).  Service organist is Charles Kennedy.
