Ba-lei-lot hit-la-ha-vut              Every night there is excitement

Ha-nei-rot be-hit-rag-shut                     The candles are excited

Bo-a-rot be-chol ko-lot                        Burning through every voice:

Chanukah, Chanukah                            Chanukah . . .

Be-ni-tso-tsot shel za-hav                     Sparkling like gold,

Kol cha-nu-ki-ya kat-vah                     On each Chanukah menorah is written

Ha-ya ni-tsa-chon bak-rav                    A victory arrived:

Chanukah, Chanukah                            Chanukah . . .

Kol ha-nei-rot, kol ha-bra-chot    All the candles, voice of the blessings,

Ri-ku-dim be-sim-cha                           Dance joyously.

Az ta-gi-du she-hem nits-chu                Thus they will tell that they were victorious.

Shi-ru ha-le-lu-yah.                               Sing halleluyah (praise to God).

Or zo-rei-ach be-o-fel                          Light is sown into the darkness

Me-ka-deish kol Yis-ra-eil                   Sanctifying all Israel

Be-ka-vod ha-me-na-tseil                     With the glory of the Deliverer

Pach shel she-men le-cha-peis  A cruse of oil was searched for,

Zi-ka-ron be-toch ha-eish                     A remembrance in the midst of the fire

U-le-far-sem et ha-neis             To announce the miracle
