"A Starry Night" at Jefferson CollegeDate: December 1, 2009 Location: Missouri, USA Choir type: College and University Choirs Voicing: Mixed
The combined choirs of Jefferson College, Robert C. Howard, conductor will present a concert of holiday music called "A Starry Night" in the campus Fine Arts Building, 1000 Viking Dr. in Hillsboro, MO on December 6th at 3:00 p.m.. Admission is free to all.
The Madrigal/Contempo Ensemble will sing Vaughan Williams' Wassail Song, Poulenc's Quem Vidimus Pastores, Lauridsen's O Magnum Mysterium and a new arrangement of O Tannenbaum by Robert Howard.
The Chamber Choir will sing Coventry Carol and Vivaldi's Magnificat with a chamber orchestra.
The Community Chorale will sing Rutter's Star Carol and Candelight Carol as well Yon's Gesu Bambino and Mendelssohn's There Shall a Star Come Out of Jacob.
The combined choirs will join forces for Lo How a Rose E'er Blooming and Mathias's Sir Christemas followed by an audience sing-a-long of Christmas Carols with audience, orchestra and the combined choirs.
