Ragnar Bohlin, Special Guest Conductor

"...beautiful melodies and floating, enchanting harmonies, with the gentle voices balanced against the robust tension of the strings."  - New York Times

Considered one of the world's most celebrated choirs, The Swedish Radio Choir transplants their awe-inspiring a capella music to the Scandinavian heart of the U.S. The 32-member group's phenomenal expertise spans a variety of music ranging from baroque, gospel, folk, and commissioned contemporary works drawing heavily upon composers from their home country as well as the celebrated maestros of the past.

The group began in the 1940's and has served under the leadership of the famed choral conductors Eric Ericson and Tõnu Kaljuste, among others. This tour is led by conductor Ragnar Bohlin, a revered Stockholm native who also serves as choral director for the San Francisco Symphony. Bohlin is a master interpreter of the traditional Swedish repertoire as well as the contemporary choral works that make up this special program.
