Bayreuther Festspiele Chorus?

Hello,
I may post this question in different parts of the forum because I am not shure where it belongs :)

Does anyone have information on auditions for the Bayreuth Festival Summer Chorus? I believe the director is still Eberhard Friedrich.
I have looked on the official website for Beyreuth but I see nothing about auditions. Perhaps one need to go through an agency? I ask this for a student singer - I think he would benefit greatly from such an experience.

Thanks to everyone

I sang in Germany for 15 years and it is my impression that the Bayreuth chorus is composed exclusively of choristers from German opera houses with very little turnover from year to year. For me, a better experience would be for your student to look around at the many summer training programs that exist in this country and Europe. I hasten to add that I agree with you - Bayreuth would be a SPLENDID experience, but I think, not possible.

Thank you. I knew people years ago who sand i the Bayreuth Chorus but I never actually asked them how they were engaged to participate. I did know that many of these people were also solists in some of the theatres in Germany, as well as a few from other parts of italy.

You mention summer training programs and this brings up a very good question, possibly for a second post. Which ones, and how valid are they?

Thank you for you help!
