Australian Music on itunes, amazon.com and emusic.comDate: December 3, 2009
For several decades Graeme Morton's choirs have provided us with knowledge of a great deal of Australian choral repertoire. His St Peters Chorale was the ensemble that commissioned Past Life Melodies and brought the young Stephen Leek to our attention. A list of all the Australian works subsequently commissioned or premiered by the Chorale can be found at www.graememorton.com.au. His other choirs, The Lucian Singers and The Brisbane Chamber Choir have also recorded and promoted Australian music.
We are delighted that music by these ensembles can now be accessed as mp3 downloads from the sites listed above. The following CD albums on those sites all contain Australian repertoire - On The Road and Voyage (St Peters Chorale), Joyful Day and Pathways (Lucian Singers) and In Memoriam and Time and Eternity (BCC). More recordings are soon to be released.
Subsequently, should you be interested in performing any of these works, and you cannot find information about scores, please contact Graeme through his website (listed above).
Oh, and if you are singing Carols this year, and want a fun, a cappella version of Jingle Bells, one can be downloaded free of charge from the website.
