The PA Sinfonia Orchestra in Allentown, PA. (in partnership with other Allentown organizations) will be hosting a friendly, local gospel choir competition on January 30, 2010. The event will take place at Symphony Hall at 23 North 6th Street in Allentown, PA.at 7:30 pm with the competition earlier thatday.  Choirs within a 60 mile radius of Allentown are invited to compete with traditional and contemporary gospel selections (2) of their choice and their own rendition of Total Praise by Richard Smallwood. Prizes for top choir & top youth choir will be awarded to charities chosen by the winners. An audience vote will also be taken. Music by African American Composers will be performed by the Philadelphia Brass Quintet and young pianist, Vivian Wang. Echoes of Liberia Dance Troupe and other featured gospel enembles will perform in addition to finalists in the competition.
