Manchester Girls Choir and Manchester Boys Choir have performed around the world and won plaudits from critics.

 

But the choirs came to a sudden end after Manchester council pulled the plug on funding.

 

Town hall bosses say the groups are no longer sustainable because of falling numbers of members.
