Northern Harmony, world music ensemble, performs Feb. 2 in NYC

Northern Harmony, the unique world music singing ensemble from Vermont led by Larry Gordon and Patty Cuyler, presents a concert on Tuesday, February 2, at 7:30 PM at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 521 West 126th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue.
 
The concert features sacred and secular music from Corsica, Georgia, the Balkans, and South Africa, as well as American shape-note, gospel, and contemporary works. Many of the Balkan numbers feature accompaniment on accordion, fiddle, tambura, and drum.
 
Northern Harmony will also perform at the Eastern Regional ACDA convention in Philadelphia the following week before embarking on a two-month European tour later this spring.
