Satellite Radio Choral Music?Date: January 12, 2010
Good day everyone,
This is something of a wild hare but here goes. I just got off the phone with a Sirius Radio representative. I asked if there was anyone to talk to about having a choral station on Sirius. She said the question can be pursued at this e-mail address.

The thought occured to me that it might be possible to broadcast the ACDA station via satellite radio. Anyone interested in this idea Replies (4): Threaded | Chronological

I think this is a fabulous idea. I know on the Symphony Hall channel (I think 78) on Sunday, they have choral music but they used to have a station called Vox totally committed to vocal music. It was then under XM.
Thank you for bringing this up and I hope you get a huge response.

The Vox channel on XM's satellite service was all I listened to. There were Shaw recordings, Dale Warland Singers, lots of great music. It was a sad day when SIRIUS changed the lineup to 24-hour opera. If they consented to our ACDA station I know where my preset will go!

Great idea! Perhaps current as well as archived ACDA Regional and National performances could be aired. If this should come to pass, a weekly posting of proposed programming would be helpful.

I was unaware that Sirius used to have a vocal station other than the Met. I have written to ACDA and Sirius to see if anyone wants to pursue this.
