Eastern Europe/Russia tour

I am interested in taking my group to Eastern Europe, specifically Estonia and Russia.  Does anyone know of a tour company with good resources in this area?  Any good ideas for venues, excursions?  Any things to avoid?

I highly recommend ACFEA Tour Consultants for touring in Eastern Europe. Our choir has had wonderful experiences in Russia with ACFEA. In 2002 we toured Siberia and ended the trip with a terrificl concert in St. Petersburg at the Conservatory. ACFEA's Russian representative, Olga Yemelyanova, is a real pro in every respect and knows the "system" well so that concerts really happen the way they were planned. It's critical to have experts when you travel in Eastern Europe.

Last summer ACFEA managed another successful tour for us to Serbia, Bulgaria and Greece. Again, all details were masterfully handled and the representatives assigned to our group were first rate, particularly Tassos Strikos, a multi-lingual Greek musician who knew how to make touring a true pleasure and who arranged concerts for us that others had said were impossible.

I have every confidence that ACFEA would do a good job for you in Estonia and Russia. They are not the least expensive agency but, as the old expression goes, " You get what you pay for!"

Hello Thomas,

I don't know much about Estonia and Russia, but if you have the opportunity while you're in Europe to travel around, there is a great Choral Competition in Wernigerode, in Northern Germany. It's lots of fun and open to a variety of levels.  More info can be found at: http://www.interkultur.com/competitions-festivals/international-competitions/int-johannes-brahms-choir-festival-and-competition/wernigerode-2011/

Enjoy your tour!
