The 39th season of Bach Cantata Vespers
at Grace Lutheran Church continues on Sunday February 28 at
4:00 p.m. with Cantata #54,
Widerstehe doch der Sünde (Stand Firm Against Sin). This
solo cantata will be sung by countertenor Steven Rickards of
Indianapolis, Indiana, under the direction of Grace Cantor, the
Rev. Michael D. Costello. The Grace Senior Choir will also take
part in the service. The prelude will begin at 3:45 p.m. with a
performance of Bach's Concerto for Harpsichord, Flute, and
Violin in a minor, BWV 1044, with soloists Donna Port, flute;
Betty Lewis, violin; and Steven Wente, harpsichord. The
homilist will be The Rev. Dr. Frederick A. Niedner, Professor
of Theology at Valparaiso University. A free-will offering will
