NYC: C4 presents Sound and Fury - New Shakespeare Settings

Location: New York, USA
Choir type: Chamber Choirs and Vocal Ensembles
C4: the Choral Composer/Conductor Collective presents seven world premiere choral settings on Shakespearean texts. Featured composers include C4's Jonathan David, Franny Geller, David Harris, Jamie Klenetsky, Karen Siegel, and Martha Sullivan, setting words from Hamlet, The Merchant of Venice, and the sonnets, as well as poet Mary Alexandra Agner's portrait of a post- Midsummer Night's Dream Titania. The ensemble will also give the first performance of Minnesota composer Jocelyn Hagen's Ophelia, as well as Jaakko Mäntyjärvi's 2 nd, and less frequently performed, Shakespeare set. Please join us for what will be decidedly not your average choral Shakespeare program!
