The Nature Coast Children's Chorale was founded by David Pletincks in 2009. He and his wife were reflecting on the state of the performing arts programs in the public schools in Florida. More and more schools are reducing their arts programs leaving the children with fewer options of studying and making music. They also looked at the amazing success of the two children's choirs in Tampa and realized that a program of that nature would also be a success in the west-central region of Florida. The choir has an enrollment of 48 students in their second year and continues to grow. In February of 2010, they performed "Carmina Burana" in a program hosted by Distinguished Concerts International New York at Carnegie Hall.  This was the first concert that DCINY has sold out at Carnegie Hall in their company's history.
