The 39th season of Bach Cantata Vespers at Grace Lutheran
Church continues on March 21 at 4:00 p.m., with cantata #1,
Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern (How Lovely Shines
the Morning Star)
, written by Bach in 1725 for the Feast of the
Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Grace Cantor, the Rev.
Michael D. Costello will lead the Grace Senior Choir and
orchestra with soloists Maura Janton Cock, Christopher M. Cock,
and Douglas Anderson. The prelude will begin at
3:30 p.m. with an organ recital by Dr. Robert D. Hawkins
of Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, South
Carolina and a performance of Bach's Brandenburg Concerto #1 in
F Major. The homilist will be the Rev. Karen Salvo Hawkins of
Christ the King Lutheran Church in Columbia, South Carolina. A
free-will offering will be received. Grace Lutheran Church is
