Looking for a title for a series of concertsDate: March 23, 2010
My mind is blank. I'm doing a grant application for some help with funding a series of concerts for a very special choral group of visually impaired singers. We will be singing a cappella songs from around the world in harmony. Some of the singers are also intellectually disabled but they produce a fantastic sound full of confidence and energy.
For the title of this grant proposal I need to come up with a name for the concerts, like "Music from the Heart" , only something a bit more catchy.
If you have any ideas I'd love to hear them, and will pleased to acknowledge it on the program if we use it. Replies (9): Threaded | Chronological

I'll think of more tonight. Where are you located? Would love to hear you! I am the parent of a young man with autism and music makes such a difference to those with challenges. This sounds wonderful!

These are wonderful, thank you!
Marie and Bill, - we are located in Australia and we are not up to making CD's yet. I'm sure that is something they would love to do one day. Yes, the choir has changed the lives of many of the singers. They have a place to go where their talents are celebrated rather than have their disabilities be the focus.
Barbara: you suggestion was very interesting - our choir is called Vision In Voice Choir - and that name came to one of the sight impaired singers in an instant.

Hi Jane!
I'm sure you'll be blessed with an AMAZING concert!
I just had a thought - open your program with the lights as low as possible - if not off.
Let the audience experience what the performers LIVE!
And then, whatever name you choose, the audience will understand much better!
I teach middle schoolers in southwestern Indiana.
The first day of class, I tell them my teaching philosophy: Tell me something - I forget.
Show me something - I remember.
Involve me - I understand.
You are VERY fortunate to have these folks in your life and you in theirs!
Best wishes!
We'll be thinking of you!

I often like to use the title of one of the pieces that will be sung. Perhaps you have a title that would reflect the mood of the concert -- or the title that is the favorite of your singers.
Good luck from Cape Cod!
