Please join IOCSF as we present our Spring concert series – birth, life, love, death – with a spotlight on repertoire exploring our incredible human journey through the many stages of life. The concerts will feature a cappella works by Eric Whitacre, Claudio Monteverdi, Charles Stanford, Robert Pearsall, Peter Louis van Dijk, and the world premiere of several pieces including Shaffer McGee’s The Breath of Night.
The performance on Saturday, May 15 will also feature a special repeat performance of Maurice Duruflé’s stunning and luxurious Requiem. Completely unique in its application of medieval melody, modern orchestration, and comforting treatment of the subject matter, Duruflé’s grand masterwork is a welcome departure from this troubled world and a hopeful arrival in a place of peace and eternal rest. The International Orange Chorale of San Francisco (IOCSF) is devoted to performing established repertoire of all periods, with particular attention to contemporary music, including newly commissioned works by promising composers.
