Podium 2010 closes with the Elora Festival SingersDate: May 26, 2010
As Philip mentioned in a previous post, this past weekend in Saskatoon Saskatchewan, the members of the Association of Canadian Choral Communities (ACCC) gathered to hold their biannual conference. Over the course of three and a half days, the delegates were treated to ten choral concerts featuring eighteen of Canada's finest choirs, ranging from children's choirs university choirs, to community choirs. As well as the National Youth Choir of Canada, the Canadian Chamber Choir and the Elora Festival Singers, under the direction of Noel Edison, which is one of a handful of professional choirs in Canada.
On the program was Arvo Pärt's stunning setting of "The Beatitudes", performed below by the Elora Festival Singers.

Look for details in the future on the next conference to be held in Ottawa, Ontario in May of 2012. We are always happy to have friends from all countries visit our cozy national choral conference. |
