Choral Music Experience North CarolinaDate: May 26, 2010 Location: North Carolina, USA
CME North Carolina will take place July 6-10, 2010 at Elon University in Elon, NC (near Greensboro). Faculty includes course director Cheryl Dupont, Donna Thomasson, and composer-in-residence, Nick Page. Daily classes include rehearsal techniques, rehearsal preparation, score study, voice education, conducting practicum, rehearsal observation, Master Class, and Meet-the -Composer sessions. Participation is open to college students, experienced teachers, and everyone in between. Members of four youth choirs will serve as Young-Artists-in-Residence. Techniques taught are applicable to choir of any age. Repertoire packet is included, and repertoire covers treble and mixed voicings.
The reasonable tuition of $395 covers non-credit participation. Three hours of graduate credit are available at an extra cost, reduced from normal graduate tuition fees at Elon. Accommodations are available in a nearby hotel, at a discounted group rate. Choral Music Experience stresses the formation of comunities of conductors, singers and composers, in a safe, nurturing environment.
