Meistersingers, led by conductor Brian Dehn, will present their final concert of the 2009-1010 season. In celebration of their completion of 10 years of bringing music to Southern California, their concert is entitled "Looking Backward, Looking Forward".
The concert will feature highlights from the groups very first concert 10 years ago, a wonderful way of "looking back" to see and hear the roots of group. The second half will include all world premiers as Meistersingers is known for adventurous programming coupled with passionate performance. The past winners of their competitions will be performed along with 4 new world premiers including three Meistersingers commissions made specifically for this concert. Frank Ferko, Joshua Shank and Collin Martin are known by many in choral world to have a special voice when it comes to their music, and these works are prime examples of that fact.
