Pink Flamingos Male Quartet $4 for unlimited copies!Date: June 22, 2010 Voicing: Men
OK, you probably only need 5 copies (4 singers one rehersal piano) but you get the idea.
This is barbershop quartet. It is a song about "flamingoing," the practice of placing dozens of plastic pink flamingos on someones lawn during the night, so as to surprise them in the morning. An interesting way to celebrate birthdays, wedding anniversaries (as is the case in this particular song) etc.
There is an mp3 on the songs page it is TLBB SUNG BY A COMPUTER! Vocals computer generated. Great rhythm and intonation. Fair diction and tonal quality, but at least you can get an idea of what it sounds like. (It has trouble with the suffix "ing" so "FlaMINGos comes off a little funny, like amigos. Sigh).
Lets see if "insert audio clip" really works. You can only hear 1 minute of the song here, but the whole thing is on the mp3 at Sibeliusmusic.com
Its CHEAP! Only buy one copy for $4 and you have permission to make copies for you school or group etc. (or yourself if you decide to pay yourself and take it with you). Make as many as you need for performance for as long as you need them. (Please! You may not sell or give away copies. Just tell people where you got them). Lyrics I'm lying here in keen anticipation; this special day has just begun to dawn!
I'm excited as a little kid at Christmas; today's the day I get to find out what is going on. The days have gone so slowly by while waiting and wondering what it is you have in store. But now my curiosity has got the best of me! I'm getting up! I can't wait any more! Today is the day the day we were wed! I’m all excited as I crawl out of bed! You said you were planning a special surprise. I open the blinds and what a sight meets my eyes! Pink flamingos standing in the yard! Pink flamingos are my anniversary card! Pink flamingos! See them everywhere! Pink flamingos! Tell me you care! I walk out the door and on to the grass. They don’t fly away as by them I pass. It’s ‘cause they’re only made of plastic, you see, But those pink flamingos look fantastic to me! You were so clever, with birds of pink To say what never could be written with ink. A love like ours, dear, can’t be spoken with words. That’s why I’m so happy that you gave me the birds. Pink flamingos standing in the yard!
Pink flamingos are my anniversary card! Pink flamingos! See them everywhere! Pink flamingos! Tell me you care! Pink flamingos stand on the lawn! Pink flamingos, as our love goes on and on and on! Pink flamingos! See them everywhere! Pink flamingos! Tell me you care! rob k PS Go to http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/12708 and get a book of funny poems (23 of 'em) for half price± (regular $2.95) by entering the code ES96T Maybe you can find a poem to make into a TLBB.
