The Day that Jesus Died SAB and Piano
BUY ONLY ONE- MAKE COPIES FOR YOUR GROUP (ONLY) A song for the end of a Good Friday or a Passion Sunday service. SAB and piano. Follows Matthew talking about what happened the day Jesus died. (earthquake, remorseful people etc. but also the redemption he won that day). Most important: It resists the temptation to jump ahead to the resurrection. Because of the dissonance, it is best to learn the choir parts well first, without the accompaniment.
http://www.sibeliusmusic.com (type the words "the day that Jesus" in the search box).
There is an mp3 on the songs page it is SAB SUNG BY A COMPUTER! Vocals computer generated. Great rhythm and intonation. Fair diction and tonal quality, but at least you can get an idea of what it sounds like. I tried a chorus setting, which makes it sound outer spacey. Have named the group, "The Andromeda Choir!"
Lets see if "insert audio clip" really works. You can only hear 1 minute of the song here, but the whole thing is on the mp3 at Sibeliusmusic.com
Its CHEAP! Only buy one copy for $7 and you have permission to make copies for you school or group etc. (or yourself if you decide to pay yourself and take it with you). Make as many as you need for performance for as long as you need them. (Please! You may not sell or give away copies. Just please tell people where you got them). Lyrics Tune: 'Twas in the Moon of Winter Time” Deep darkness fell upon the land the day that Jesus died. His cry was heard by all on hand the day that Jesus died. The trembling earth did quake and groan In grief so deep it shattered stone. Yes! The earth mourned that day. Earth mourned and cried The day that Jesus died. Then all was silent on that hill the day that Jesus died. The blustery wind was cold and chill the day that Jesus died. The people turned t'ward home and bed In silence. Not a word was said. Everyone went their way Empty inside. The day that Jesus died. But from our sins we were set free the day that Jesus died. They were destroyed there on that tree the day that Jesus died. His bitter anguish, pain and strife, For us forgiveness; for us life. Prayers of thanks we will pray. Freed! Justified! The day that Jesus died.
