Choir games estimated to bring $73.5M to CincinnatiDate: July 13, 2010
The impact includes direct spending of $36 million by the operators and organizers of the event, participants who will stay at hotels downtown and elsewhere, and by spectators. Indirect spending accounts for the rest of the estimated impact.
“In terms of the number of people coming to Cincinnati from around the country and the world, and staying for several days to a week or more, this event is comparable to a mid-summer World Series or Super Bowl,” said study author Jeff Rexhausen of UC’s Economics Center for Education and Research. |
