OCDA Spring Board Meeting
Saturday, April 14, 2007
Southern Nazarene University - Bethany, OK

The meeting was called to order by President JoAnn Struck.

The treasurer's report was made by Ramona Cummings via e-mail. We have approximately $20,144.00 in our account. Motion to accept the report was made by Linda Pollock and seconded by Susann McDaniel. Motion carried.

Jan Smith made a motion to move our deadline for payable fees from schools to April 1 from June 15 effective April 2008. This would make contacting schools easier, as after schools are dismissed for the summer, it is very difficult to make contact. Linda Pollock seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Tentative schedules for the 2007 OCDA Summer Convention, July 15,16, & 17 were distributed. It was decided to add a contest session to the schedule. Randy Hurst, Janis Dawson, and Chuck Chapman were suggested to be on the panel. Weston Noble, Frank DeMeiro, and Ruth Dwyer will be the main speaker/teachers at the convention. The reading sessions will be presented by various OCDA executives. Weston Noble will be directing the convention chorus.

Stacy Weger reported the All-OCDA College Choir of 74 members from NEOA&M, NWOSU, OPSU, OBU, OU, SEOSU, TU, and USAO presented a great concert and had a good audience.

Stephania Abell reported the following directors for the All-OCDA Junior High Choruses:
    '08--Tom Wine
    '09--Charles Robinson
    '10--Sandra Snow.
Kelly Martin is the '09 chair. Auditions will be November 13, 2007 (Tuesday) at the First Baptist Church of Mustang. January 10, 11, & 12, 2008 are dates for the Junior High All-OCDA chorus.

Bill Perring gave the report for the All-OCDA Women's Choir via e-mail. Nancy Cobb Lippens will be the '08 director. Paul Graves has agreed to be considered for the '09 Women's Choir chair, and Connie Coleman has agreed to be considered for the '10 OCDA Women's Choir chair.

Gregg Jasper is coming for the All-OCDA Jazz Choir director for '08. Dave Cross is scheduled for '09. Doug Woolery is the '08 coordinator.

Darla Eshelman gave her report via e-mail, also. Bob Kidd directed the joint choirs of the OCDA Chidlren's Choir Festival. Five choirs participated.

Wes Singleton moved to accept the committee reports, and Stephania Abell seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The All-OCDA Festival CD's were discussed. The following deadlines were set:
HS OMEA & OCDA JH and Jazz audition pieces:
May 1: All pieces given to Kevin Zinn
June 15: All preview CD's to Coordinators for checking
July 1: CD's ready for distribution

OCDA Women's and OCDA Jazz non-auditon pieces:
July 1: Music to Kevin Zinn
September 1: All preview CD's to Coordinators for checking (date changed 7/17/07 by JS & BB)
October 1: CD's ready for distribution (date changed 7/17/07 by JS & BB)

August 1, 2007 is the deadline for the next Sooner Style.

All board members are to bring door prizes for the convention.
