The Bach Cantata Camp for high-school musicians at Grace Lutheran Church concludes on Friday, July 30 at 7:15 p.m., with cantata #137, Lobe den Herren, den mächtigen König der Ehren (Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of Creation).
28 students in orchestra and chorus will join with soloists and orchestral musicians from the Chicago area under the direction of Grace Cantor, the Rev. Michael D. Costello. Maurice Boyer of Concordia University Chicago will conduct the orchestra in a festive prelude and Charles Brown, also of Concordia, will conduct the choir in works by Jan Bender, Hugo Distler, and Carl F. Schalk.
The homilist for the service will be the Rev. Bruce K. Modahl of Grace Lutheran Church. A free-will offering will be received.
