India Winter Music

Can anyone suggest some holiday/winter choral music from India or the Middle East? SATB preferred. Thank you!

Only just stumbled across this Stephen!

Since neither India nor the Middle East have harmony singing traditions, it will be hard to find an SATB arrangement of anything unless it has been seriously Westernised.

This is probably not relevant for you anymore, Stephen, but for anyone else who passes this way...
Ethan Sperry has arranged a good deal of Indian music for SATB (or SSAA or TTBB) choirs.
Here's a good example: "Dwijavanthi" - http://youtu.be/xUre_jHOGHw

I'd also be curious as to whether Middle Eastern or Indian cultures have holidays that are close in the year to the Western "holiday season". We hear about Christmas and Hanukkah, and to a lesser extent Kwanzaa...the dearth of "winter" choral music from Asian traditions may be because that time's not a center of celebration there like it is over here. Or perhaps we just haven't looked hard enough!

Cheers!
