Seraphic Fire & Western Michigan University Chorale Top iTunes Charts

Dear All,

Just sharing a choral success story that happened over the weekend. Two weeks ago Seraphic Fire and the Western Michigan University Chorale self-released our new recording of Claudio Monteverdi's "Vespers of the Blessed Virgin 1610."  Over the next thirty six hours, the disc rose from obscurity to the top 10 bestselling Classical albums on iTunes (solely through word of mouth and Facebook buzz).  Jeff Lunden at NPR (himself a wonderful choral musician who performs regularly with the Dessoff Choirs) noticed the story as it was happening and pitched it to his editor at NPR.

On Saturday, Lunden's piece on Seraphic Fire, WMU and Monteverdi ran at the end of "Weekend All Things Considered," and an hour later the disc was the number one bestselling Classical album on iTunes, and briefly overtook Lady GaGa's newest album in the All Genre list on iTunes.

Glad to be able to share such good news on a Monday morning!

Sincerely,

Patrick Dupre Quigley
